I am… bound for destruction.

They remove my tires
And strap me to a conveyor belt
Heading for the furnace

I am offended.

I was proud
To trade my life away
To save the greenery of the city

I could understand
Being made a slave
To serve their business

I can even see the logic
Of being broken up for parts

But to only be valued
For my base materials
Feels insulting

I look to My Father.

He says:

“You should be honored
Twice over”

He points
At the shadowy figures
Cackling with glee

“First
That they fear you so much
They would rather invalidate you
And destroy your value
Than risk using you”

He points me to the flame.

Adding:

“Second
Because those I most love
Best reveal it
By surrendering everything
They value about themselves…”

“To grow more like Me!”
