I am… bereft.

All I have been given
For the home I don’t remember
Is a small child

“WAIT!”

I cry

“Don’t leave me like this
This Child is helpless
He cannot save me
Unless I first save Him
And I do not know how”

I listen to the Spirit.

He says:

“Your assignment is not
To know and to do
But to receive the gift…”

“Of loving and failing!”
