I am… deathly afraid.

I look to Jesus.

I say:

“You made me kill you
To save my family
How can you expect me
To love my beloved like that?”

Jesus looks to me.

He says:

“This is not a command
Or a duty
But an act of kindness”

Jesus opens my eyes.

Though my feet have been renewed
There is a darkness in my heart
That would consume me
And her
And her family

I cry out.

“Lord
This is too much
To ask of her
Why not
Kill me yourself?”

Jesus grins.

“Because the only way
To truly give
A woman your heart
Is to…”

“Let her cut it out!”
