I am… astonished.

Not only
Was my operation to replace
My mother-in-law’s infected feet
With those of Jesus
A success

Somehow…

Mine were too!

For the disease
That was killing her
Was endemic in me
As well

And in me obeying Jesus
To heal her feet
With the gospel of peace
Somehow
He also healed mine

I look to Jesus.

His eyes twinkle
As He says:

“That is not all…”

“Remove the sheet!”

I carefully
Remove the blanket
That was covering my mother-in-law
While I operated

Only to find…

“My beloved looking at me!”
