Even as I am
Being sifted

All my thoughts
Feelings
Desires
Memories

The good
The bad
The ugly

What I remember fondly
Wrongly
Or not at all

I look for Jesus.

He is the sledge
Cutting away my straw

He is the wind
Blowing away my chaff

He is the flail
Breaking apart my seeds

Jesus looks to me.

He says:

“You think you came back
To save your family
And so We have”

Jesus looks past me.

To the house of learning
Where the one
Who once loved me
Labors alone

He says:

“But the deeper reason
I drew you back
Is so you can found…”

“A Family for me!”
