I am… on a boat.

Jesus
Is keeping us afloat
While we fish

Through storms
Ice
Broiling heat

I look to Jesus.

I ask:

“How are you doing this?
Why are you doing this?”

Jesus looks to me.

He asks:

“Son of man
Why did you become a gunslinger?”

I answer without thinking:

“Because there is great evil in the world
And only a few of us
Are willing or able
To do a little evil
To stop it”

Jesus smiles.

We head to shore
And beach the boat
Next to abundant fields

He finally answers:

“I am doing this
Because it is the only way
To get someone exactly like you…”

“Ready for the harvest!”
