I am… in so much trouble.

I am nothing
Without a family
Tribe
Culture

To tell me who I am
Nourish that identity
Teach me how to protect it

I look to My Father.

He opens my eyes
I see the world
In new colors
That I had been shamed
Into not seeing

He opens my ears
To the songs of flowers
I once labored to find

He opens my mind
To see my predicament
As endless possibility
Rather than a curse

I worship the Father.

And as I do
My heart slows
My mind slows
My soul slows
My strength slows

And I find myself…

In a place of rest.
