Just barely

The tension
Of loving those
Who hate each other

Including
Perhaps especially
Parts of myself

I look for Jesus.

He says:

“Relax
I got you”

He opens my eyes.

I see
Into His heart

I see
Every version of myself
Including those
At war with each other

Are held together
In His heart
Covered by His blood

I let go.

My struggles
My fears
My ambitions
My needs

Dissolving
In the blood of Jesus

Until He says:

“Now is the time…”

“To pump you out!”
