Honor their insecurity.
Don’t feed it.

Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Bringing people to Jesus
- So they can be forgiven
- So they can forgive themselves
Immanuel Approach Memo
Continued from Attack!
I am…weeping.
Not from the pain
Of slicing up
The heart in my chest
It belongs to Jesus
And when it is cut open
All of the tears
He carried for us
Pour out
Drowning me in compassion
The land floods.
My friends and enemies
Forget which is which
And start climbing
To where I am
I look for Jesus.
He is the rock
On which we stand
His tears
Erode away
The false identities
That keep us separated
From Him
From each other
From our selves
We band together.
Mostly
Out of shared fear
At the rising water
That threatens to drown us
But also
Because this shared intimacy
Is what we secretly craved
All along
And resented each other
For not providing
We raise our voices.
In celebration
Desperation
Invitation
Appreciation
Until
The water stops
The heavens open…
And a rainbow appears!
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Heartbroken
- Grief-stricken
- Merciful
- United
- Connected
- Rescued
- Saved
Scripture
