I am… disheartened.

Jesus used
The sword of His mouth
To cut out my heart
And the idol it housed

He washes it
With the blood and water
From His own broken heart

Jesus lifts my heart.

My idol
Has been dissolved
By the blood
Of His love for me

My heart
Has been purified
By the water
Of His spirit

Jesus looks to me.

He hands me
The sword
Of His mouth

He looks
To my friends
And says:

“Who wants to go next?”
