Continued from Longer Barren

I am… eating nothing.

I have no needs
No hunger or thirst

But
I begin to feel a pull

Not of something to do
Rather of something
About to be done

To me
With me
Through me

I listen to the Spirit.

He says:

“You must prepare yourself
To be born

“It is a great gift
And holy calling
But also
A great burden”

I feel… something.

Not an external pull
But an internal conflict
At the Spirit’s words

The Spirit notices
And says:

“Yes…”

“That is called ‘tension’!

“It is the beginning
Of consciousness

“You will need to be careful
How you manage those tensions
In order to survive
And thrive
In the world
I am sending you into”

The tension increases.

The Spirit says:

“Do not resist
Or avoid the tensions
Because this
Is what it feels like…”

“To know God!”
