Seek the pain that you are refusing to face
For that is where growth hides.

Today’s Most Important Challenge is…

  • Remembering who(se) I am
  • So that I can love others as they are
  • Rather than what I need(ed) them to be

I am… nurtured.

As a lowly worm
I don’t have to do anything
But feed on God’s peace
Wherever I sense it

As I do
I find myself growing stronger
Gaining an internal skeleton
External hide
Feet to stand on
Ears to hear with
Eyes to see

So…

I look for Jesus.

He is standing before me
In a matador’s outfit
Saying:

“I have made you
A mighty bull

He points
At a religious stronghold
Filled with delicate china
And says…

“Time to tear it all down!”

Scripture

So Gideon built an altar to Yahweh there and named itIn Yahweh there is Peace.” (The altar is still standing at Ophrah, which belongs to the clan of Abiezer.)
That night, Yahweh spoke to Gideon and said,
“Take your father’s bull and the second bull that is seven years old, and go and demolish your father’s altar to Baal. And cut down the tree of the goddess Asherah, which is beside it.
And in their place, on top of the stronghold, build a well-constructed altar to Yahweh your God. Use the Asherah tree you have cut down for firewood. Then take the second bull and burn it whole as an offering.”
