Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Making time for childhood
Yahweh Approach Memo
Continued from Yahweh Marched Out
I am… keeping my distance.
I am honorable enough
To accept responsibility
For our child’s sins
And my own
But that very honor
Makes me pull away in shame
As the LORD draws near
To our distorted family
I listen for the Spirit.
He says:
“Open your eyes
Seeing the face of God
Might destroy you
But isn’t that
What you secretly want?”
I decide
To risk it all
I look to My Father.
Immediately
My rocky armor
Starts crumbling to the ground
My invisible brother-in-law
Makes an appearance
Rushing into the valley
To watch
My twisty friend
Solidifies
To stand his ground
In solidarity with me
I look to my wife.
She does not see me
She sees the LORD
He sees her
She feels seen
And as we
With unveiled faces
Look on
In awe and wonder…
Our child speaks!
To be concluded
Reflection
I feel…
- Vulnerable
- Disintegrating
- Connected
- Hopeful
- Agony
Scripture
“The remaining nobles marched out, Yahweh’s people came to me to fight against the mighty ones.
Judges 5:13-18 TPT
You men of Ephraim came out to the valley, your brother Benjamin joined your ranks. Leaders came from Manasseh, and from Zebulun, those who hold the ruler’s staff. Issachar’s princes rallied to Deborah, Issachar stood fast alongside Barak, rushing into the valley under Barak’s command, while among Reuben’s clans there was great searching of heart.
Reuben, why do you remain by the sheepfolds, listening for the shepherds to whistle for their flocks? Among Reuben’s clans there was great searching of heart. Gad played it safe and stayed east of the Jordan, and Dan lingered near their ships, while Asher kept their distance and stayed by the coast, safe and secure in their harbors.
But Zebulun and Naphtali defied death and risked it all on the heights of the battlefield.”
