Continued from Arose as a Mother
I am… declaring:
“This child is mine
And any evil
Done by him
Due to his isolation
And newfound powers
Is my responsibility”
Our army
And the enemy army
He had unconsciously controlled
Stare at my monstrous form
In horror
My wife
Hangs her head
In shame
I listen for the Spirit.
He says:
“You too
Are a son of mine
Who has done evil
And for whom
I have taken responsibility”
A wind blows.
In the distance
There is a sound
Like a gunshot
As metal snaps
The gates
Of the faraway city
Are flung open
A figure
On a white donkey
Approaches
And as He draws closer
We can all see…
