Lore

Forged from unmade White Gold and purified into Earthpower, the Cup contains a red liquid like the Mirror of Seeing, but deeper still. To drink is to share the Cup with the Father—to see and be seen as beloved.
After one sip, you know: He sees you the same.

Major Powers

Covenantal Seeing (1/day)

Share the Cup with an ally within 30 ft. You both:

  • Perceive each other’s divine reflection
  • Hear: Well done, good and faithful servant”
  • Gain for 1 minute:
    • +2 to Insight and Persuasion
    • Resistance to psychic damage
    • Immunity to being frightened or charmed while facing each other

Grace-Filled Blessing (1/day)

One drinker gains:

  • Bless and Shield of Faith for 10 minutes
  • HP restored = Wisdom modifier (minimum 1)

Sacramental Release (1/long rest)

Pour the Cup into the ground in a 20 ft radius. Choose one:

  1. Light of Atonement – Cure 1 disease or poison; grant advantage on next Wisdom saving throw
  2. Tears of Repentance – Creatures make Wisdom save (DC = 8 + Proficiency + Wis/Con); on fail, affected by Calm Emotions

Guardian of the Covenant (3 charges/day)

When defending the vulnerable, expend a charge to:

  • Cast Revivify, Lesser Restoration, or Protection from Poison (no components), OR
  • Create a 10-ft healing aura: 2d8 + Wis modifier HP healed per creature (half on save); lasts 1 minute

Charges are restored at dawn if you acted in sacrificial defense.


Passive Effects

  • You always benefit from Sanctuary and Protection from Evil and Good
  • Allies within 30 ft are subtly transfigured—seen as the Father sees them
  • Immune to fear; enemies cannot target others while you stand between them

Curse — Covenant of Seeing

If you act in betrayal, deceit, or selfish abandonment:

  • Take 4d10 radiant damage
  • Lose all Cup benefits for 24 hours
  • Cup becomes inert and silent

If you die defending another:

  • Your body becomes a Fountain of Seeing — a sacred site offering 1d4 HP/hour healing and advantage on Wisdom checks to all who drink

Sentience

  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Stats: INT 18, WIS 22, CHA 20
  • Communication: Telepathy and visions
  • Personality: Quiet, loving, affirming. Yearns for relationship and mission. Withdraws if wielder turns from grace.

Destruction

The Cup can only be destroyed if:

  • A once-faithful steward rejects grace completely
  • Willingly casts the Cup into an abyss devoid of love

Even then, it may reappear to one ready to truly see and be seen.
