A Kingdom Comic Book on Spiritual Warfare for Kids (and Grown-Ups)
In honor of John Bevere
PAGE 1: TITLE PANEL
[Full-page panel]
Dark forest. A half-torn map flutters in the wind. Campfire glowing. Eyes in the shadows.
Narration (top):
In every soul, there’s a campsite.
In every campsite, there’s leftover food.
And in every forest, there’s… a scavenger.
Title:
RANGER BEVERE: Don’t Feed the Scavenger
PAGE 2: THE SETUP
Panel 1:
Close-up of a campfire circle. Two kids roasting marshmallows.
Kid 1: “I think I’m doing okay with God.”
Kid 2: “Yeah, me too. Except for that little grudge thing…”
Panel 2:
From the woods, glowing red eyes peek out. A shadowy, hunched creature licks its claws.
Narration:
Somewhere between bitterness and pride…
he waits.
Panel 3:
Rustle of leaves. Enter RANGER BEVERE—half wilderness guide, half prophet-warrior, glowing compass on his belt, Bible strapped to his back.
Ranger Bevere:
“Campers! Keep your eyes open and your hearts swept clean. You’ve got a scavenger problem.”
PAGE 3: THE TEACHING BEGINS
Panel 1:
Kids look confused. One points at the trees.
Kid: “You mean, like a coyote?”
Panel 2:
Ranger Bevere:
“No, worse. This one feeds on anger, fear, hidden sin.
He doesn’t need to bite. He just needs what you leave lying around.”
Panel 3:
Ranger unrolls a scroll: “TOP 5 LEFTOVERS THE ENEMY LOVES”
- Bitterness
- Secret shame
- Half-truths
- Unforgiveness
- Spiritual laziness
PAGE 4: THE SCAVENGER STRIKES
Panel 1:
The shadowy creature—slimy, sly, with scraps of sin stuck in its fur—lunges from the dark toward the camp.
Panel 2:
Close-up of its mouth: it whispers, “You’ll never be enough…”
Narration:
He doesn’t roar. He accuses.
Panel 3:
Kids start to panic. The campfire dims.
Panel 4:
Ranger Bevere raises his light-compass, scripture glowing from his mouth.
“Submit to God. Resist the devil—he will FLEE.” — James 4:7
PAGE 5: THE CLEAN-UP MISSION
Panel 1:
Kids around campfire, holding trash bags labeled: “Confession,” “Forgiveness,” “Truth.”
Ranger Bevere (smiling):
“You don’t fight scavengers with fists.
You fight them with light and a clean camp.”
“You don’t fight scavengers with fists.
Ranger Bevere
You fight them with light and a clean camp.”
Panel 2:
The Scavenger shrinks away as they pray together. Each kid drops “sin trash” into a glowing fire: fear, envy, lies.
Panel 3:
From the trees, the shadow breaks apart in smoke.
Narration:
No leftovers.
No access.
PAGE 6: THE CALL TO ADVENTURE
Panel 1:
Dawn breaks. Ranger Bevere stands tall as the kids gear up with Bibles, journals, and flashlights.
Ranger Bevere:
“Every day you walk into the woods of life.
Keep your pack light. Keep your heart clean.
And never, ever feed the scavenger.”
Panel 2:
A wooden sign at the trailhead: “Camp Kingdom: Disciples Only—Don’t Feed the Scavenger.”
Narration:
Victory doesn’t come from noise. It comes from obedience.
RANGER BEVERE OUT.
