Continued from Raised-Up Deliverer

I am… threatened.

An evil stone meteor
Is heading straight toward
My rotting wooden corpse

My new band of warriors
Raise their white gold shields over me
To form a protective dome of wild magic

It is beautiful
Even awe-inspiring

But something about it
Doesn’t feel right

I look to My Father.

He says:

“Those shields
Are not for them
To protect you

“But to protect them
And the land
From you
And what you must do”

I see the truth.

The corruption
I pulled from the land
Is what draws the evil to me

If they protect me
It will just disperse
Infecting the land
Even worse

But if instead…

I shout a command.

They stare at me
In disbelief and confusion

But then they look
Into my ruby eyes
From the Mirror of Seeing

They see themselves
And My Father
In me

And know
It is what they would do

If they knew
And were known
Like me

They grip their shields.

Reshaping the wild magic
From a dome
Into a funnel

Guiding the meteor…

Right into my heart!
