It was never about Eurydice.
Jesus on Hadestown
It was always about fatherlessness.

Immanuel Approach Memo
Continued from Failed to Conquer
I am… speechless.
After all my complaining
Jesus is finally inviting me
To lead this army like Him
And I don’t know what to say
My breathing grows shallow
My stomach cramps
My knees grow weak
My vision dims
I look for Jesus.
I cannot see Him
But He takes my hand
He makes me lie down
In a green pasture
I close my eyes
And trust
He whispers urgently:
“Breathe! Breathe!”
I take a deep breath
Inhaling His Holy Air
Exhaling my fear and insecurity
Slowly
After one final convulsion
My body relaxes
My breathing slows
I rest on Him
As a pillow
While He says:
“Open your eyes…”
“You have delivered!”
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Exhausted
- Birthed
- Held
- Natural
- Supernatural
- Led
Scripture
The Canaanites were determined to stay in their land, so the men of Manasseh did not conquer the cities of Beth Shean, Taanach, Dor, Ibleam, Megiddo, and their surrounding villages. And whenever Israel gained the upper hand, they subjected the Canaanites to forced labor; but they did not completely drive them out.
- The tribe of Ephraim failed to drive out the Canaanites living in Gezer, so the Canaanites continue to live there among them.
- The tribe of Zebulun failed to drive out the Canaanites living in Kitron or Nahalol, so the Canaanites continue to live there among them.
- The tribe of Asher failed to drive out the Canaanites living in Acco, Sidon, Ahlab, Achzib, Helbah, Aphik, and Rehob, so the people of Asher live among the Canaanites residing in the land because they did not conquer them.
- Likewise, the tribe of Naphtali failed to drive out the Canaanites living in Beth Shemesh or Beth Anath, so they live among the Canaanites residing in the land. However, they forced the inhabitants of Beth Shemesh and Beth Anath to serve them.
