Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Letting go of my attachment
- To anything that is not Christ
- So I can fully experience everything
- As Christ
Immanuel Approach Memo
Continued from Presence and Power
I am… frustrated.
We are supposed to be learning
How to lead like Jesus
But instead
We are marching
Endlessly
Nowhere
In… circles?
I look for Jesus.
He is not
In front
He is not
Behind
He is
The center
Around which
We were circling
Without realizing it
Jesus smiles.
He says to us:
“Thank you for obeying
What you could not
Understand
For the time was not right”
Then He prays:
“Father…”
“Open their eyes!”
We gasp
At the treacherous pits
And villainous fortifications
We could not see
But expertly threaded past
Because we were focused
On the apparently futile
Tasks He assigned us
Jesus grins.
He adds:
“I took you
The long away around
Not just for your safety
But so you could learn
To work in unison”
Jesus points.
We see
A Great Wall
The boundary
Between the Kingdom of God
And the Empires of Man
Which runs
Through every human heart
Jesus grows somber.
He whispers:
“This will only come down
When all of you
Shout with one voice
With all your heart
All your soul
All your mind
And all your strength”
Jesus looks to me
And says:
“Now…”
“Lead them!”
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Overwhelmed
- Safeguarded
- Trained
- Chagrined
- Excited
- Terrified
- Singled out
- Unready
- Prepared
Scripture
“The tribe of Benjamin, however, failed to conquer the Jebusites living in Jerusalem. So to this day, the Jebusites live among the Benjamites in Jerusalem.
Judges 1:21-26 TPT
Yahweh’s presence and power were with Joseph’s descendants, so they advanced toward Bethel and sent men ahead to spy out the city that was formerly known as Luz.
The spies confronted a man coming out of Bethel and they said to him, “Show us the way to enter the city and we will treat you well.”
So he showed the spies a secret entrance into the city, and they killed everyone living in Bethel with the sword except that man and his family.
Later the man and his family moved to the land of the Hittites and built a town. The new town has kept the name Luz to this day.
