In a galaxy far, far away…

Continued from Cloudy

I am… angry with Jesus.

“We have to rescue them!”

I shout
Pointing to the desert island
Where my pursuing family
Has stranded themselves
After following us back in time

I look to Jesus.

He looks me in the eye
With such love
Compassion
Understanding

It is too much.

I turn away
Feeling the churn
Of shame
Need
Fear
Inside me

Jesus reaches out.

He places a hand
On my shoulder
And says:

“I know you long
To be reconciled to them

But the reason we came here
Is to face your past
And theirs

So you can be healed
And be a blessing to them”

Jesus looks to them.

He says:

“I will watch over them
Until you complete your mission”

I reply:

“What mission?”

Jesus smiles
And says:

“This one!”

He rolls our spaceship
Into a power dive
Presses a button…

And I am ejected!
