In a galaxy far, far away…

Continued from Pursued

I am… inverted.

We enter a dark cloud of space debris
The wreckage of past failures

Jesus flips us around
And flies straight back
Towards those
Who pursue us

I look to Jesus.

I say:

“Are you crazy?
They’re going to kill us”

He smiles:

“They
Are more afraid of you
Than you are of them

“Besides
They never wanted
To hurt you
Only to keep you
From hurting them”

Jesus draws closer.

They panic
At His advance
Roll over
And crash into each other

Falling
Into the watery planet
Below us

Jesus watches over them.

He is sad
But not concerned

He hands me the quadnocs

I look closer.

I am oddly relieved
To see two tiny figures
Escape their ships
And swim to a desert island

Then I zoom in
And realize
With a shock…

They are my family!
