I am… obliterated.

My body
My wars
My civilization

All vanished from the land

Was it all in vain?

I look to My Father.

He says:

“Look again!”

I see the ravaged battlefield
Where my story began
Is now a beautiful garden

The small-minded tribe I visited
Is now a generous nation
Thriving
Joyous
Loving
Expanding

I see an altar.

At the center of the garden
Where the nation gathers
Once a year
On the day I ascended

Not to honor me
Or even remember me

But to celebrate
The crown of thorns
Their first leader wore

Which I wove.

And with that
I am content
