Continued from Dying

I am… shrinking.

Or maybe
The king is growing

Bigger
Stronger
Wiser
More compassionate

And as he grows
So do his people

Is it just
The crown of thorns
Or did some of my
Blood and brains
Transfer to him?

I look to My Father.

He smiles:

“Let me
Worry about reality

“As far as you know
With your limited understanding
The king and his people
Were like this all along…

“But you were too full to see it!”

I gaze dumbly
As my once giant body
The residue of countless battles
Seems to diminish

I ask:

“Am I dying?”

My father laughs
Though His eyes fill with tears:

“Yes
And no

“Don’t ask
Don’t wonder why
Just trust…”

“And watch!”

I calm my heart
I slow my breath

I see
The world expand
And become infinitely beautiful

As I
Become less
Fade away…

And disappear!
