Yahweh Approach Memo

Continued from HeartWatch

I am… self-differentiating.

I look the tiny king in the eye
And reach out my giant hand
And confess:

“I cannot save you
And you cannot save yourself
But there is One
Who can”

I look to My Father.

He guides my eyes
To a thornbush

I break off three branches
And weave them together
Into a crown

Puncturing my hands
Covering them with blood

I look to their king.

I say:

“If you would be saved
And save your people
Your covenant
Must not be with Me
But with the One who sent me”

He stares in horror.

At me
At my bloody hands
At the crown of thorns
I offer him

I sigh.

And say:

“Let me show you
How it works”

With trembling fingers
And clumsy hands
I lift the crown to heaven…

And jam it onto my head!
