Continued from Cling

I am… surrounded.

Like Gulliver in Lilliput
Thousands of tiny people
Swarm around my giant form
Pulling me out of the water

They haul me before their king
Who sits on a bamboo throne
Crowned with ostrich feathers
Wearing war paint

The person who first greeted me
Is a translator
He speaks for the king

They saw me floating toward them
On the newly-made river of tears
And assumed
I was sent by God
To destroy their enemies

I look to My Father.

He says:

“Read them the scroll
In the unknown language”

I gulp
Take a deep breath
And begin to pronounce the words

Instead of bringing them to tears
As it did me
The words
Terrify them

They panic!

Warriors grab their spears
Women their children
Everyone is shouting
Or crying

I don’t know what to do
But the Spirit says:

“Keep reading!”

As I do
The king stands up
Gives a mighty shout
And everyone runs away
Except him

He stalks towards me.

Even though he is tiny
I am intimidated
By the fire in his eyes

He looks me in the eye
Points a minuscule finger at me
And yells:

“Kneel!”
