“God

Then a miracle occurs.

I see God cry.

Holding me close
With great wracking sobs

When He’s done
He stands next to me
Puts an arm around my shoulder
And points to Earth

Saying:

“I made that world for you
Just like I made a promise
That I would give you peace”

God sighs.

“I am waiting for someone
To help me
Create a new world
To fulfill that promise”

God looks at me.

“I cannot command you to do this
You have every right
To wait for someone else

“But it would mean a lot to me
If you were willing
To give up everything
You have ever known...”
