Identity Exchange Memo
Continued from Reception
I am… distributing keys to the cities.
Somehow
We have won a war
We didn’t realize we were fighting
Each city
Welcomes back its high priest
And the refugees
Hiding in other cities
As they go
I turn to my elders
Who had waged war on other cities
And killed me
Before surrendering
Wondering
What in God’s name
Would I do with them?
Then a miracle occurs.
They ask me
To lead them
In prayer
In confession
Repentance
Forgiveness
I weep.
Out of my broken heart
Flows streams of living water
On its banks
Grow the trees of life
Whose leaves bring healing to the nations
The twenty-four elders
Fall down.
In worship
And as they do…
A throne appears!
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Overwhelmed
- Unworthy
- Chief of Sinners
- Victorious
- Humbled
