I am… passing through.

My fall from the skies
Doesn’t end with the earth

The love of Jesus
Pulls me
Into the depths
The darkness
The despair
Of the underworld

I look for Jesus.

At first
I cannot see
Or hear Him

Because of the cries
The curses
The complaints

The violence
The victimization
The overwhelming visuals

Then I realize…

They are all mine.

This land’s bondage
Is mirror to my own
And Christ called me here
To set me free
Not just them

I cry out for Jesus!

I hear His voice
Behind me
Saying

“Turn to the right”

But when I do…

I can’t believe my eyes!
