I am… spinning in place.

My last upward hop of faith
Into thin air
Fails
To find a new foothold

But
I do not fall

My momentum
Carries me
In circles

I think I’m going to be sick

I look for Jesus.

He reaches out
With a nail-scarred hand

But
Instead of slowing me
He tilts me
So I am spinning horizontally
Rather than vertically

My nausea
Subsides
Into wonder

I see Jesus.

Everywhere
Helping others
In their climb of faith

Some
Barely hovering off the ground
Others
Bounding into outer space

I weep.

It is
Too beautiful for words

My tears
Spray outward
Into a rainbow

They form a bridge
Connecting me
To everyone’s leap of faith

No matter how large
Or small

The connections
Slow my wild gyrations
Without becoming entangled

The connections

I come to rest.

Floating gently
On my stomach
In mid-air
With Jesus
By my side

He grins
And says:

“You ain’t seen nothin’ yet!”
