I am… building walls.

After all
God told me to turn His garden
Into a city
So that other faceless people
Can come
And enjoy it

And walls
Are what make a city

Rooms
Buildings
Fortifications
Borders

Privacy
Security
Shelter
Alll the things we need
To survive in the modern world

Right?

I listen for the Spirit.

He says:

Yes
But
You no longer live
In the modern world

You are living
In the Kingdom of God

You don’t need lighting
For there is no night

You don’t need borders
For there is no longer
Any sea
To threaten you

You don’t need a building
To box Me in
To keep Me safe
To let you grow

You have entered
Into the maturity
Of those who have faces

You can face
Your own nakedness
And show others
How to escape their shame

All you have to do
Is stop building walls
And start building beds

Hospital beds
Dorm beds
Family beds
Lover’s beds

Give people
A place to rest
And I AM
Willing to do the rest

Because
You will only
See each other
Face to face
When you have seen Mine

But once you do
You will realize
The whole world
Is My garden
And My city

And that is all you need

Scripture

You must obey God’s law about the Sabbath and not do what pleases yourselves on that holy day. You should call the Sabbath a joyful day and honor it as the Lord’s holy day.
You should honor it by not doing whatever you please nor saying whatever you please on that day.
Then you will find joy in the Lord, and I will carry you to the high places above the earth. I will let you eat the crops of the land your ancestor Jacob had. The Lord has said these things.‭‭
