I am… listening.

With my new ears
As my new eyes
Stare at The One
Who healed my faceless face

The roaring of the ocean
In my ears
Drowns out the words
I once heard
In my spirit

The cares of this world
Words of slander
Acts of oppression
Darken my sight
Dimming my vision

Especially
When they come from me

I fall on my knees

I listen for the Spirit.

He says:

“You are My body
Broken for them
Do this
In remembrance of Me”

I lay myself down

Face down
Arms outstretched
On the beach
Like an altar

I cry out:

“Spirit take me”

At first
Nothing happens

Sheer nothingness
Even the winds and waves cease

And then…

Fire falls!
