Discipling — without the Dis.
We need “religion” to save us from the world — and then Christ to save us from religion.

Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Stopping leaders
- From sabotaging themselves
- By effectively sharing grace
- Through sacrificial love
Immanuel Approach Memo
Concluding from Uplifted
I am… transported.
The living water of Jesus
Bursting from His broken heart
Smashed me against the ceiling
Of the underground cavern
Atomizing my flesh
Freeing my soul
I look for Jesus.
I see Him
With the eyes of the Spirit
Not just
In the gathered faithful
Or the poor and oppressed
But also
In the hypocritical elites
And flawed reformers
Like me
I gasp in awe.
Realizing our brokenness
Is the very thing
That draws us to Christ
Instead of religion
And rather than despising
Myself or others
For dishonoring His house
Or our Sabbath
I should rejoice
Because now I see.
Everything
That goes wrong
According to the Law
Whether a lost coin
Or a lost child
Or lost innocence
Creates a hole
In our hearts
Where the Grace of Christ
Can break through
And that
Is the best Sabbath
Of all
Finit

Scripture
