Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Letting go of myself
- So I can testify to Jesus
- In way that connects to others
Immanuel Approach Memo
Continued from Sabbatical
I am… underdressed.
I have stripped myself
Of the mantle of responsibility
In order to follow Him.
I look to Jesus.
He leads me out of the synagogue
Into a modern street.
The day is hot
I am more comfortable
And natural-looking
Without my heavy yoke robe
Jesus disappears
I start to panic
Then…
I listen for the spirit.
The Spirit says:
“Jesus is a foreigner
From a different time and place
The people of this city
Won’t recognize Him
Unless…”
I turn
I look at a glass skyscraper
And realize…
I reflect Him.
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Sent
- Embodied
- Vulnerable
- Guided
Scripture
“Don’t let foreigners who commit themselves to the Lord say, ‘The Lord will never let me be part of his people.’ And don’t let the eunuchs say, ‘I’m a dried-up tree with no children and no future.’
Isaiah 56:3-4 NLT
For this is what the Lord says: I will bless those eunuchs who keep my Sabbath days holy and who choose to do what pleases me and commit their lives to me.”
