I am… lower.

I surrender to the ocean
Sinking into the depths

My Jesus-lizard feet
Cannot keep me up
Because I have stopped running
To worship Him

I listen for the Spirit.

He says:

“The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.”
Matthew 11:5

I see.

I am blind
Lame
Leprous
Deaf
Dead
Poor

Only when I embrace
The bitter fallenness
Of my own humanity
Can I be saved
Much less save others

I breath out.

My air is gone
The darkness closes in

“Father, receive my spirit”

I expire.
