I am… searching the air.

Looking for My Lord
As my basilisk feet
Propel me above the waves
Into the sky

I listen for the Spirit.

He says:

“He is not here
He has risen
Seek Him
In the naked, poor, and imprisoned”

I fall.

I was right
To seek My Lord
Rather than people

I was wrong
To seek Him
Apart from them

For I cannot know His heart
Until mine breaks
For the least of these

I sink.

Having lost momentum
My feet
Cannot sustain me
And I disappear
Beneath the waves…
