Continued from Undefeatable

I am… nonplussed.

The heat of my enemies’ attacks
Has rebounded on them by the Spirit
Making them as confused and directionless
As we already were

Where do we go from here?

I listen for the Spirit.

His words sound ridiculous
But no more so than what has already happened
So I listen and obey

I take off my shell.

I stand on top of it
As naked and defenseless
As my friends and enemies

I lift my clumsy turtle hands
Speak in my slow turtle voice
And call down water from heaven

Nothings happens
At first
Except everyone staring at me
Including the lord of the castle
Who finally awoke to the invasion

Then…

Water falls.

Soothing our burns
Carrying away our weapons
Covering our nakedness
Tossing us like children

We laugh and chatter with glee
Forgetting our enmity

Fish flood in
Enough for a feast

As the water drains
My lord leaves his castle
And stares up to heaven
Realizing his deliverance
Grateful for my intercession

And declares
To those near and far:

“Let the banquet begin!”
