Spirit Approach Memo

I am… awake.

In the house of my lord
A weak but kind man

The castle is warm and dry
But poorly defended
And running out of gold

I wonder if it will last
I wonder what I should do

I listen for the Spirit.

He tells me:

“Arise
While it is still dark
Prepare food for the household
And tasks for the servants”

So I kneel and pray:

“Lord of my lord
Nourish my master
Strengthen him where he is weak
Encourage him where he is fearful
Protect him where he is vulnerable”

I stand and pray:

“Lord of my heart
Establish our feet on solid ground
Show us which way to walk
That we may not turn
Left into grumbling
Or right into demanding
Or stand still in sullen silence”

As I go
About my work
I hear Him say:

“Well done
Good and faithful servant
Enter into My rest”
