I am… desolate.

The city I built
With my own hands
Has been reduced to rubble

I lack the will
To start over
Never mind the materials

I look for Jesus.

I see Him
With me
In my ruin

His face is somber
As he surveys the devastation
But His eyes
Sparkle with excitement

Jesus picks up a stone.

It is broken
Ruined
Worthless

Like me

Jesus smiles

He breathes on the stone.

He rubs it with His sleeve
He polishes it
He lifts it up

I look at the stone

I gasp.

It is beautiful
I see my reflection
I am beautiful

Jesus grins
And says:

“What you need most
Is more destruction!”
