I am… carried away.

Out of all the children I bore
Only Anger and Envy stay with me

Laughing
Mocking
I am helpless
As they carry me away
To God knows where

I look for Jesus.

He is not
Laughing

He is not
Worried

He is
Waiting

For when I let them run
And do not fight or flee

They run out
Of the energy
They got from fighting me

They run out
Of the fear that propelled them
When I fled
My own emotions

They come crawling
Back to Jesus
Hungry
Thirsty

As all kids do
Even bad ones
When they are hurt
Or scared
Or needy
Enough

And so do I
