Continued from Departing

I am… unhurried.

The city I escaped
Looms behind me
But I do not fear it

The angel who rescued me
Told me to follow my heart
But I know not what that means

What I most want
Is to read the scroll
We retrieved

Does that count
As following my heart?

I look for Jesus

In the scroll

I read:

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain

I am disappointed.

The truth
Though profound
Doesn’t seem immediately useful

The scroll
Seems excessively large
And bulky
For such a simple message

I don’t know what to do.

So I sleep
Knowing I will forget

Trusting
That tomorrow-me
Will discern
What God wants me to do
