MIC Check
Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- To speak my truth
- To set others free
- To speak their truth
Immanuel Approach Memo
Continued from Evangelizing
I am… awake in a cell.
Again, apparently
I dress in the clean white robe by my bed
Read my tattoos
And see that I have sailed
Landed
And “Entered a city”
Since I first awoke in a cell
I check the door
It is locked
From the outside
Perhaps
They fear my message
That Jesus is alive
Either
Because their deeds are evil
Or it is too good to be true
How
Can I set them free
When they have imprisoned me?
I look for Jesus.
I do not see Him
Instead
I see a bright light
Blinding me
I close my eyes
When I open them
The light is gone
But a man dressed in white
Stands in the open doorway
He does not speak
But holds a finger to his lips
And hands me sandals
I obey and follow.
He leads me deeper
Into what must be a fortress
Or a palace
Or a temple
Nobody challenges us
But we hear sounds of snoring
Finally
We reach a room
With two sleeping guards outside
Filled with gold
And precious jewels
We ignore them
Instead head to a wooden cabinet
The man takes out a key
Unlocks it
And withdraws a bone case
Containing an ancient scroll
I take the case.
He relocks the cabinet
Hands me the key
And leads me into a secret passage
That exits the city
We emerge
On a grassy plain
Far outside the walls
Finally
He speaks:
“It is not yet time
To liberate this city
Shake the dust from your feet
And follow your heart”
He smiles
Claps me on the shoulder
Then disappears!
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Rescued
- Abandoned
- Stealthy
- Treasured
- Exiled
- Shepherded
- Entrusted
- At loose ends
Scripture
“Get out! Get out and leave your captivity, where everything you touch is unclean. Get out of there and purify yourselves, you who carry home the sacred objects of the Lord.”
Isaiah 52:11 NLT
