I am… at the end.

I see from my tattoos that I:

“Woke in a cell
Set sail from an isle”

I do not know
How many days ago
But now
There is no food
No water to drink
And no land in sight

I look for Jesus.

I do not see Him
But a shadow falls on me

A dove
Improbably far from land
Carrying an olive branch

I change course.

Following the peace
Following the Spirit

Soon a dot
Appears on the horizon
Growing into a line
Into land
A whole continent
The ends of the earth

I do not see a beach
The winds and waves
Threaten to cast me upon the rocks

But as the thing I hoped for
Threatens to destroy me…

A wave lifts me.

Carries me
Sustains me
Elevates me

Safe to shore
