Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Forgiving the unforgivable
- By bearing the unbearable
Immanuel Approach Memo
Continued from Burning
I am… a monster.
I struck Jesus
By accident
While fighting off zombies
Who couldn’t even hurt me
While He
Has been kind and supportive
When I didn’t even know
Why I was rampaging
I look for Jesus.
I cannot find Him
Did I burn Him up?
Did the zombies carry Him away?
Then I look closer
At the place where He
Paid the price for my sin
I see a map.
Ancient
Worn
Charred
I realize
This is what
I have been searching for
All along
The secret
Of my origin
The crater
The pit
The quarry
Where I was created
Or discovered
The source
Of the emptiness
And loneliness
That makes me a villain
I look again at the map
I see myself.
I appear no more
Then a speck of dust
But it moves
As I move
I see an X
Not far away
But across hazardous ground
With heavy step
But lighter heart
I begin my quest
Hoping
I will find
Not just answers
But Jesus!
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Encouraged
- Desolate
- Hunger
- Incompleteness
- Savage
- Hope
Scripture
“Listen to me, all who hope for deliverance— all who seek the Lord! Consider the rock from which you were cut, the quarry from which you were mined.
Isaiah 51:1-2 NLT
Yes, think about Abraham, your ancestor, and Sarah, who gave birth to your nation. Abraham was only one man when I called him. But when I blessed him, he became a great nation.”
