I am… open.

Lying on my back
In my hawk-body-self
Nearly blind without my glasses
Helpless

Wolves prowl nearby
While my she-bear-wife
Stares at me suspiciously

Still clutching the shotgun
Used to protect her cubs
From the wolves
And my other selves
Now redeemed and watching

Then…

She looks to Jesus.

She lifts up
His empty scarecrow head

It bursts into flame
With an ear-splitting crack

The wolves flee
My child-selves fall over, giggling
My hawk-selves soar with rapture
My lion-friends roar with delight

When it is done
Christ stands before us
In human form
Holding her hand

She is a woman
I am a man

Jesus looks to me.

He takes my hand
He joins it to hers

We live
Together
Joyfully* ever after

*Not always happily.
Happiness is the absence of problems.
Joy is confidently facing problems.
Together.
