I am… consuming.

As a rabid fox
I sink my fangs
Into the wounded side of Jesus

He cries out in pain
But I am too consumed by mine
To notice

Jesus cries out in pain

My hunger
Is what undid me

I wandered far
Into dark places
And became infected
Where no one could see
No one could help
Until it was too late

The virus
Is consuming my brain
Disrupting my senses
Skewing my perceptions
Especially of my self
And what I need

My hunger
Is what saves me

I feast on Jesus.

His flesh
Is real food
His blood
Is real drink

I chew
With increasing slowness
The liquid
Soothes my soul

I thirst
No more

The meat
Seems to expand
Filling my stomach
Filling the emptiness inside me

His blood
Enters my blood
Through wounds in my mouth
From biting my own tongue

My body
Is being restored
I feel myself
Becoming human

But my brain
Every nerve
Is still on fire
From the virus

How can my mind be saved?
