I am… wiped out.

I see the scene in the third-person
The secret hollow
Where I tasted the blood of hawk-Jesus
Is filled with my redeemed hawk-selves

But I am not there

Or am I?

I look for my self

I see a small fox
Rabid
Clever
Dangerous
Hungry
Terrified

I look for Jesus.

My hawk-selves pull away
Jesus does not

He is no longer in hawk form
He stretches out
His human arms
Towards my canine nose

I snarl

Jesus looks at me.

With infinite sadness
Perfect compassion

He says:

“Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

I Cannot Hear Him.

My need
My pain
My hunger
My thirst

It is too much

The blood and water
From His wounded side
Triggers something deep within me

I lunge forward…

And take a bite of Jesus!
