I am… looking for Jesus.

Listening to my heart
After laying down
My power and safety
Led me to a scarecrow

Is this Jesus?!

The scarecrow opens it’s eyes

I jump back in horror

Scarecrow: I don’t know! But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking, don’t they?

Me: Um… are you saying you don’t have a brain?

S. Yes. Yes I am.

M. You sound almost proud of that.

S. Of course! I don’t have the brains to think otherwise.

M. Ah. Well, do you have any idea how I can find Jesus?

The scarecrow looks at me curiously.

S. Is that what people with brains do?

M. What?

S. Ask about ideas rather than what they truly want?

I stare at him in consternation.
Then I realize what is going on.

I humble myself before him.

Scarecrow, I confess my pride in my own wisdom has made me foolish.
To my shame, I must admit that I have lost Jesus.
Please, will you help me find Him?

He grins

“I thought you’d never ask!”
