I am…unprotected.

The orange hunting vest
That was supposed to keep me safe
Is what is putting me in danger
So I took it off

I turn around
I lay it down

Then I see Jesus.

His feet
Are wherever I lay down my life
My pride
My security
My comfort
For those I love

I stand up

Then I see myself.

Many versions of myself
Wearing orange vests
Orange baseball caps
Even orange jumpsuits

I realize
With a sinking feeling
That my adversary
Shot Jesus

Because they were afraid He was me
