Continued from Remembering

I am… frozen.

Jesus told me to wait
While he stalks our prey

The silence stretches out painfully
I don’t know what we are hunting
Or if it might be hunting us

I look for Jesus.

Straining my eyes
All I can make out
Is His orange safety vest
In the distance
Obscured by trees

Suddenly…

A shot rings out.

And the vest falls to the ground!
