MIC Check
Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Shrinking my ego
- To more clearly see
- Jesus and others
- As they truly are
- Vs what I need them to be
Immanuel Approach Memo
I am… a banker.
At least
That’s what I tell myself
I’m really a miser
Who pretends I’m providing a service
But secretly just amasses wealth
And ignores those who truly need my help
I look for Jesus.
He sees me
Climbing a tree to look for Him
He says:
“Come down
Lower yourself to my level
Walk in the street
With the filthy and forgotten“Use your ill-gotten treasure
To throw a feast for the starving
Then I will be with you
And fill the aching emptiness
Of your own soul”
Reflection
I feel…
- Humbled
- Impoverished in spirit
- Invited
- Hope
Scripture
“So to whom will you compare me, the Incomparable? Can you picture me without reducing me?
Isaiah 46:5-7 MSG
People with a lot of money hire craftsmen to make them gods. The artisan delivers the god, and they kneel and worship it! They carry it around in holy parades, then take it home and put it on a shelf. And there it sits, day in and day out, a dependable god, always right where you put it.
Say anything you want to it, it never talks back.
Of course, it never does anything either!”
